My advice for women getting started on their fitness journey

You have finally made the decision to change your life, specifically your body. You know you will probably have to change your eating habits as well and that has got you feeling overwhelmed and a little bit stressed out.

First off, don't overthink it. When you are thinking about all of the changes you have to make it can cause paralysis and then you will start sabotaging your efforts before you have even begun.

The best way to break this down so that it is fun and achievable is to write down your BIG goal on a piece of paper.

Then write down all of the benefits you will get when you achieve your BIG goal. This will probably look something like this:

* Fit into that dress I wore in college

* Feel confident in my swim suit this Summer

* Have more energy

* Less afraid to have pictures taken of me

* No longer taking medication for my health issues

* Glowing, youthful skin

* Cooking healthy, nutritious meals at home

After you have written down a pretty good sized list of positive benefits that will come from changing your food and fitness you want to hang that up where you will see it every single day.

Next, you want to take a look at your schedule and schedule out a block of time at least 3 times a week to devote to exercising, and 2 times a week you will make a home cooked healthy meal.

If this is scheduled into your schedule in advance the chances that you will actually do something during this time block is much higher.

The goal is to keep this as a consistent practice to where it becomes something you look forward to doing and forms into a habit.

Once you have continued with 3 times a week exercise time blocks and 2 times a week cooking blocks for a month then you can add more days of this routine.

I wouldn't add any more days until you have stuck to your plan for at least a month because we want to avoid any stress or overwhelm that could come from taking on too much.

This is a fantastic way to incorporate your new habits and start to see changes in your physical body as well as your mood, confidence and energy levels.
